JD.com’s Harvest Carnival and Shopping Festival of Agricultural Specialties launched on September 1, 2023.
This is the second year that JD.com has organized the annual event. During the festival, JD.com promises consumers fast delivery of premium, farm-fresh goods from more than 2,000 of China’s industrial belt zones.
Celebrating Flavors From Across China
The Harvest Carnival and Shopping Festival of Agricultural Specialties offers Chinese consumers a huge range of local specialties, including:

Last Year’s Harvest Carnival and Shopping Festival
The first-ever Harvest Carnival and Shopping Festival took place in 2022 and was extremely popular with JD’s customers.
The traffic and transaction volume for premium agricultural products saw double-digit growth during the 2022 festival. Traffic increased 1.2 times and transaction volumes increased by almost 50% compared to the same period in 2021.
During the 2022 Shopping Festival of Agricultural Specialties, JD.com consumers bought:
- 160,000 hairy crabs from Suqian, Jiangsu.
- More than 500,000 kiwis from Xiuwen, Guizhou.
- 3 million pomegranates from Hui Li, Sichuan.
Boosting China’s Agricultural Industry
By focusing on supporting farmers and improving the quality of farming products, JD.com has increased the value of China’s agricultural output. Richard Liu’s company has also shaped a positive feedback loop for China’s agricultural industry, resulting in:
- Enhanced product quality for consumers.
- Increased revenue for farmers.
- A reinforced agricultural value chain.
JD.com launched its “March to Rich” rural revitalization campaign in October 2020. Since then, the company has partnered with more than 2,000 industrial belts across China.
In June 2023, JD.com exceeded its target of creating a rural output value of more than one trillion yuan — three years ahead of schedule.
With this year’s Shopping Festival of Agricultural Specialties, JD.com has emphasized its commitment to improving the quality of China’s agricultural industry. The company continues to support Chinese farmers and fortify the development of China’s rural economy.
