How To Fix Your Multitasking Time Problem To Achieve Your Business Goals

When you’re really pushing ourselves and striving in your business to become accomplished at what you do …that’s the time when you can fall into the dangerous trap of “multitasking”.

The fact is, multitasking is sometimes important when you have to get on top of your workload or fulfil an urgent customer order. However, when you end up doing too many things at the same time, this act of multitasking can really stop you from focusing equally on all of your key responsibilities and tasks and, therefore, creates a big time problem.

Why?

Because these unplanned actions take up much more of your time than when you are being productive by completing your allocated responsibilities and tasks in a your planned schedule.

In other words, if you have to do multitasking at certain times, then you need to be very organised knowing that these activities are going to happen at some point. Which mans you can be creative and plan them into your timeline choosing your actions carefully, and above all, keep focused with a high-level of concentration.

And to avoid this time problem of over multitasking, whenever the circumstances arise, ask yourself…

If I do all of these tasks now, will this make me more efficient and effective rather than focusing on and achieving one task at a time?

So let’s take a look at these two words, efficient and effective.

Business effectiveness is about making decisions about doing the right thing by focusing efforts on the overall business goals, and, therefore, targeting your chosen markets for customer needs and desires. Efficiency on the other hand, is about doing things better within the business by identifying what has to be accomplished to achieve these business goals such as systems, processes and productivity …in other words, getting results for maximum benefit.

The reason why this is important and of benefit to you and the business is, whenever multitasking circumstances arise, you can choose whether to focus on the bigger picture and do one task at a time. This will help you produce high-quality work to get the desired outcomes required for the overall business goals and give you a sense of completion.

And what will happen if you fail in your attempts to be productive is, you won’t get the results you want, you will continue multitasking and you’ll get frustrated and overwhelmed by not achieving your tasks and responsibilities and not having a sense of completion.
